The sleek and discreet wearable Everon Vega GPS phone is launched by O2 (Telefónica UK) as part of its Help@Hand services taking telecare mobile.

Markus Merne, Everon’s CEO, and Philip Bridges, Everon’s Business Development Director both regard this as a major breakthrough for a system based telecare solution. “Of course, it felt very good to see this happen” says Mr Merne. ”The current service offered by O2 is a result of listening to the emerging needs in a rapidly changing healthcare landscape with people wanting to live independently and the authorities needing to save money and find efficiency. The Vega has been developed and tested over several years and allows many user groups to continue to live at home without actually being restricted to the confines of the own house”, Mr Bridges continued.

O2 announced on Thursday (March 8) that it has chosen the Vega as its only wrist worn device solution as part of the Help@Hand platform, which takes the whole telecare solution mobile.

As part of its value and quality programme Everon qualified for official recognition of the standards deployed throughout operations and thus obtained the ISO 9001:2008 certification by DNV Certification Oy/Ab.

Everon’s CEO, Mr Markus Merne says: “It is beneficial to the organization to have official recognition of the quality programme we’ve had in place for years”.

Before extending the ISO certification to include the entire business, Everon had ISO certified production of its products. “Now it became evident to anyone interested in our solutions that even the world-class platforms are maintained at the highest and auditable level”, continues Mr. Merne.
